This is also a watercolor that I'd finish several months ago...
it is a combination of two different photographs and I also used photographs from the PMP website.

It was fun and challenging to put the two photographs in the same painting but I thought it was a good composition.
I always have trouble when painting white objects on the white paper,as it always turns out to be darker than I have originally planned.

This is a watercolor and it measures 15"x112",it was finished on Sept. the 24 '17

<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">This is a Watercolor that I painted a few weeks ago.
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">just a simple setting with a few objects that I found interesting.
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">I 'm always looking for contrast,Dark-tlight and intesresting shadows.
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">there was a time during the process that I wasn't happy with it,that was after the firs;few light washes that I applied for the background.
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">It didn't look right and I didn't know what else to do and I wasn't even sure if I was going to be able to make it work.
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">I probably wasn't even thinking about what the next step would be. thinking that I was probably not going to be able to save it,I decided to add more darks and in a variety of tones. I painted this on Arches, cold pressed (as usual) it measures 12" x 16" and it was finished on Jan. the 27th. '17

<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">This is one of my latest paintings...
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">it all started because of a mistake and ugliness of something else I was doing in that piece of paper.
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">I was originally planning on doing some kind of abstraction, just some shapes and color.
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">When I first started to put paint to it,I immediately noticed that it was not going to work,it was the most horrendous thing I've ever seen!
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">well, that was a downer and I really didn't know what to do.
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">looked and looked at it until I decided to discard it...but...wait a minute! there's some white paper I can use!
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">as you can see, there are some pencil lines that are visible and two of the 3 vertical drops where already on the paper.
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">So, I decided to draw a simple bowl and I painted it...very simple;but I thought that it was probably a good idea to add something else...it was scrap paper anyway.
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">So,I looked on my files and found the photos of my little metal frog. I took those photos a while ago and never got to use them,so that was my addition to it and I liked it!
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">again,it is very simple, but from now on...I'll think twice before throwing or discarding a piece of paper that I might be able to do something with.
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">This is also one of my "old" watercolours...
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">it was painted last year but I didn't post it before for a number or reasons. first,I wasn't sure if I was going to leave it as is...or;if I wanted to keep working on the background!
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">as there's so much going on with the boards and the strong color of the pot,I decided to leave it alone.
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">it is based on a photograph that I took in a small area where the pots and garden tools are.
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">I just loved the strong Orangy-Pinky color of the small pot. I also liked the shape of the tall bucket and was playing with the composition and the light.
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">The Red "reflection" on the metal bucket might've been a little bit exaggerated but I kind of like it!
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">I had a hard time drawing the sketch but once the drawing was done, that's when the fun begun!
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">This is a watercolour that I painted last year.
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">it was inspired by the severe drought that was affecting California. fortunately, this winter was stormy and rainy and it seems like the drought will not be affecting the state for a while.
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">I had the idea for a long time but I really wasn't sure how to approach the subject. as I'm not really a landscape painter and I wasn't sure where and how to start.
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">when I finally decided to start working on it,I used a small section of a photograph that was published in our local news paper as a reference for the landscape. It looks like a canyon but it's not really the way the originally picture looked.
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">the faucet was always part of my idea and I knew it has to be included,I was trying to do something somehow surrealist and different. it was actually a lot easier than I thought and I'm very pleased with it...wanting to do something different I pasted the original 12" x 16"on to a bigger sheet of paper but...my crazy idea really didn't work... so,I cropped it back to it's original size. it is a 12" x 16" painted on arches (cold pressed) and it was finished sometime on Nov.-Dec. '16
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">A watercolour that maybe a little bit difficult to understand...
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">I think that someone who creates should put in paper or canvas his (her) craziest ideas.
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">I wanted to paint a light bulb for a while but didn't have a clear idea of what I wanted to do.
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">then one day, going through my photos I saw a little Yellow bud and I immediately knew what was I going to use it for.
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">I had this hand made paper that was given to me and found a few round pieces and decided to use one of those.
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">I was a very motivated and inspired when I painted this and for somereason,I love this painting!
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">This is a watercolor that I painted not long ago.
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">It was a still life for our group of watercolourist's,we meet every Tuesday and we paint the first and the third Tuesday of the month.
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">I usually draw, because I'm not a quick painter and I think I'll get nervous if I'd have to paint in public (LOL)
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">This was Aimee's still life,I think that I did a pencil drawing that day but I took several photographs.
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">as I always do,I downloaded the photos to my computer and eliminate the ones that I don't like.
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">most of the photos were similar but this was my favorite.
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">I took me a while but I finally decided to give it a try,I thin that I wasn't careful enough and my sketch was just a little bit bigger that I wanted...but I decided to paint it anyway.
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">it wasn't as difficult as I thought but there are a few details I would've done a little bit different, too late now.
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">But I have to say that I'm very pleased with it,Maybe I'll give it another try.
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">it was painted on Arches (cold pressed) and it measures 16"x12" inches.
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">it was painted on July the 12th. '16.
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">This is another quick experiment, again;very simple...
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">I think I just don't like to paint something too complicated.

<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">Well,a couple of weeks ago I was very active with my brushes. the enthusiasm lasted a while and was able to do a few pieces that I like.
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">this is one of them,a simple-single-very lonely Lemon.
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">I Haven't been too creative,as for what kind of subjects to paint.
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">I'm not good at landscapes of portraits,so... this is what it's left for me...LOL
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">This is a small watercolour but I really Like the simplicity of it and I was very happy with it when I finished it.
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">Because I took the photo outdoors and the light was so bright, the photo is a little bit too bright and really wasn't sure if I wanted to use photoshop to darken it.
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">in order to make the painting look good,I had to do a little bit of cropping.

<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">this is a Watercolour inspired by the unusual shapes of a sweet pea.
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">I really never paid attention to those little-colorful flowers.
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">They were in full bloom not long ago and I decided to take a closer look to the plant and really got a nice surprise to see how pretty and kind of different they are.
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">I knew that I had to paint them but I didn't have a clear idea of what I wanted to do.
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">I Started sketching and painting the flower and then...
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">I didn't really knew what to do.
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">so,trying to do something different and because I just wasn' t sure on what to do...
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">I had this "Idea" of doing some kind of Abstraction for the background and I drew a vase,I cut it in half and traced the shapes directly to my paper.
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">this is what I ended up with.
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">Not good planning usually takes you nowhere,I liked the little bloom because of the strong color and unusual shapes but I could've done better with the background... (Maybe not...LOL)
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">it is a watercolour, painted on Arches (Cold Pressed) and it measures 12"x9" it was finished on July the 3rd. '16
This is a watercolour that I painted not long ago.
The photograph is Original from Viacheslav on the PMP website (Paint my Photo)
I just couldn't resist the Exquisite composition and soft colors of the tea pots.
The Yellow bowl and the lemon added some beautiful contrast.
The photograph of the painting is not a good one,but the painting is actually very good. (I think)
It is a watertcolour painted on Arches (Cold Pressed) it measures 12"x16" and was painted on July the 18th. '16.
you can see Viacheslav photograph here...
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">This is the latest watercolour I've painted.
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">not having any clear idea of what was I going to do,I started with the flower (a pink-purple poppy) it was so fun to work on it and took less work than I thought. after that,I wasn't sure what else to do and dug on my pile of photos that I sometimes use as a reference. I found a print of some landscape that I always wanted to paint but I never got to it.
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">My intention was to paint the landscape as real as I could, but unfortunately...I am not good at painting landscapes,so I just drew the shapes of the mountains and tried a bunch of colors... colors that I thought were as close as possible to the real thing...but...didn't work. LOL
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">anyway,it is a watercolour and I don't really have the measurements (the painting is being framed) but it is a biggy! this is possible one of my entries for the SCWS show Next August.
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;"> this was finished on May the 30th. This is one of the few watercolors that I've done in the few past months.
I haven't done much painting,I have been a little bit busy and most of the time...
too tired after being busy.
I started this watercolor a couple of months ago,but for some reason I felt a little unhappy with it.
I painted the small metal vase and the roses and put it aside.
After several weeks of inactivity I decided to keep working on it,I actually didn't do much to it.
I just added a little bit more color to the vase and used some left overs from my palette to paint the background.
It is kind of simple, because doesn't have much detail...but I kind of like it that way.
one of the things I've wanted to do before is to paint a little bit more "loose" and this was a very good opportunity to practice and I also, finally;got my brushes wet...LOL
