Untitled

This is a watercolour based on a photograph posted on the PMP (paint my photo) website.
I wish I have had the courage to  do some work on the background, but I guess I got lazy and didn't want to go into any trouble. the photo of the painting isn't too good,I had good light but for some reason the white paper looks a little bit dark. it was a very fulfilling experience to  paint this piece,as I'm very pleased with the results.
the Original photo was posted by Terry Krysak. (thanks Terry)   this is a watercolor, painted on arches (hot pressed) it measures 14"x20" inches and was finished on March the 25th. '16

"Untitled"

I painted this small watercolour a couple of weeks ago.
I just decided to paint whatever was on my mind,it wasn't much...as you can see.
I've taken hundreds of photographs of California poppies and decided to do something simple.
It just seems like I don't have patience to paint "complicated" subjects...LOL
Even though,I took the photo in bright day light,I couldn't get a decent photo.
the background seems to be too dark and that's not how it really looks.
it is a 12"x9" watercolour, painted on arches Cold pressed paper and it was finished on June the 5th. '16

"Untitled"

This is one of the few watercolors that I've done in the few past months.
I haven't done much painting,I have been a little bit busy and most of the time...
too tired after being busy.
I started this watercolor a couple of months ago,but for some reason I felt a little unhappy with it.
I painted the small metal vase and the roses and put it aside.
After several weeks of inactivity I decided to keep working on it,I actually didn't do much to it.
I just added a little bit more color to the vase and used some left overs from my palette to paint the background.
It is kind of simple, because doesn't have much detail...but I kind of like it that way.
one of the things I've wanted to do before is to paint a little bit more "loose" and this was a very good opportunity to practice  and I also, finally;got my brushes wet...LOL
This is a watercolor painted on a very thick-hand made paper,it measures 14"x14" and was finished on May the 24th '16

"Two boats"

this is a watercolor based on a photograph that I found on PMP  (Paint My Photo) website.
I think that I've never painted boats before, they're just a little bit difficult for me to  draw.
I found this photo and I really liked it,it is very simple but it is a great composition.
I'm afraid that I went darker than I originally planned.
This is a 12"x9" watercolor on Arches paper (Cold pressed) and was painted on March the 2'nd  '16

This watercolor painting is also based on a photograph that I found on PMP. I thought that the Red pear against the Monochromatic background is striking.
I saw the original photo a long time ago and finally decided to paint it,the original photograph belongs to a very talented photographer, his name is Viacheslav.
it is a watercolor painted on Arches and for this piece I used Cold pressed paper. it was a good-positive feeling to get this specific painting done,I'm really happy with it.
I'm actually considering  to include this piece for the next SCWS. which is going to be next August,I think.
it measures 20"x14"  and it was finished on Jan. the 16th '16

I titled it "Broken cup" it is a watercolor, painted on Arches (Hot pressed)  and it meassures 20"x14".
it was painted on Jan. the 18th. '16

"Iced tea"

Iced tea was an idea that  I got from a photograph I took...somewhere.
What really got my attention was the way the ice cubes were piled up on top of each other,I just thought it was a very nice Abstract-like composition.
Besides the color of the tea was something to die for.
I took the photo and did some cropping so I left out the top and the sides of the glass.
I've never done anything like this before and I'm happy with it.
it is very simple but for me,very attractive.
it was also an adventure for me to try something like this...
Might keep looking closely and carefully to all the cold drinks around me,maybe I'll find something interesting on my next cold "Margarita"
This is a 9"x12" painted on Cold Pressed (Arches) and was painted on Nov. the 16th '15
