"Silver Fox Reflections"

This is what I've been working on for the past couple of weeks...
I've been kind of busy and haven't done much painting.
This is a silver cup, probably a pencil holder that I found at my local Art store.
I've never tried to paint silver before and  really wanted to do something like this.
Unfortunately,it was a sunny day when I had my photographic session with the siver
Fox and it was really hard to get a good photo.
I also started my sketch and tried to get the reflections as accurate as I could but I got lost
in the process.
When I started to paint I was very eager and wanted to finish it as soon as possible but
some work got in the way and had to leave it alone for  a week or so.
When I came back to it, somehow; I had lost the "connection" I felt when I started it.
It was kind of fun and I'll probably try to do it again.
I'm going to take it out again and hopefully I'll get the silver effect that I'm looking for.
This was finished on June the 25th '12
9x12 Watercolor on Arches (Cold pressed)

  1. Hello Ignacio:) At least you tried! Silver is so difficult to paint. I know that feeling too; lose the connection from something that looked so nice to do. Mostly I stop with it because my results aren't getting better then:)
Don't panic; there are lots of things to paint:)
    Take care!

  2. Hi Renate!
That is so true and happens to me sometimes...
Even when I'm in the scketching stage...
if it doesn't look right I either discard it or start it over.
sometimes I have a clear Idea of what I want to do,but If I don't do it right away...
I'll probably won't do it and everything goes down the drain...
But you're right about "There are lots of things to paint"
    we're surrounded bye beauty...
there's beauty around us,all we have to do is to look carefully and we can do many things with simple subjects.
The most important thing is,to give it a try...
    weather is a Flower,a Landscape,a portrait...
Thank you very much for your comment.
    Best regards...
