"Power-aid"

Another unusual subject...
But actually,it was kind of fun  to paint.
I bought a small key chain,because I thought it was cute. 
I knew I was going to use it for a painting,but didn't have a clear idea of what
I wanted to do.
suddenly I had so many ideas and started to take pictures of it in different positions.
I choose 2 pictures and worked from both.
One for the pose of the little Robot with the battery on his head and the other one
for the color,it was lighter and nicer that the color from the other photograph.
it was a nice process and every thing went the way I intended to.
at the end,I was very pleased with the painting of my "little buddy"

"Left Behind"

Well,after weeks of non-creative depression...
this is what I came up with...
The real challenge when painting ordinary things is...
How to make it look good,or nice.
I  was walking in a sunny day when I spotted  a pair of abandoned tennis shoes on the sidewalk...
sometimes I think people might believe  that I'm crazy,when they see me taking pictures like this...
Who would take pictures from something that People sees or thinks  is a piece of trash?
I've just realized that we have to paint what really catches our attention.
things that we see as potential paintings,a flower,a bird,a rock...
We just have to keep creating!

"Just...Green Leaves"

            Well,this is the finished painting.
           I didn't do much to it,after the one I posted before.
           Just added some  color to the lower stem.
          I really was attracted to see how the direct light changed the 
          color of the leaves.
           some of them were almost transparent and the Shinny (withe) ones were
         dark green,but because the Sun light hit them directly  they became almost
         "Invisible leaves"...LOL
         The plant is actually a Rododendrons bush,but there were not flowers...
         I  love the picture and decided to paint it...
          wherever gives us inspiration,right?

"just...Green leaves" (WIP)

This watercolor has been in my easel for 3 weeks or so...
just sitting there,waiting to be finished.
I  just need to do a few minor details and it will be ready.
I hope to finish it soon,so I can move to my next project.

"Pride in The Hood"

I've been working in this watercolor for 2 weeks or so...
Well,sometimes I'm just too tired after work and can't concentrate in my painting.
It is an ornament in the hood of a car (Pontiac)   and I believe is from the 60's.
I did some research and found several that are similar but could not find one  that look
like this.
I took this picture a couple of years ago and I knew someday I'd paint it...
I really like and enjoy old cars,don't go to shows frecuently but I always have my camera
with me,if I see an old Shiny car,I'd probably going to take a picture of it...

"Tropical D-light"

Ok,this is  my latest Watercolor...
I really liked the Abstract shapes of the banana Tree...
The colors,and the light,it was just something that I liked and 
decided to paint.
it was a good picture I took while walking I don't know where...
it was kind of a challenge but I'm glad I  did it...
it is a small 9x12 painted in cold pressed (Arches)
and it was finished on June the 26 '12
 

"Silver Fox Reflections"

This is what I've been working on for the past couple of weeks...
I've been kind of busy and haven't done much painting.
This is a silver cup,probably a pencil holder that I found at my local Art store.
I've never tried to paint silver before and  really wanted to do something like this.
Unfortunately,it was a sunny day when I had my photographic session with the siver
Fox and it was really hard to get a good photo.
I also started my sketch and tried to get the reflections as accurate as I could but I got lost
in the process.
When I started to paint I was very eager and wanted to finish it as soon as possible but
some work got in the way and had to leave it alone for  a week or so.
When I came back to it, somehow; I had lost the "connection" I felt when I started it.
It was kind of fun and I'll probably try to do it again.
I'm going to take it out again and hopefully I'll get the silver effect that I'm looking for.
